I needed a fix of Tussie Mussies(TM)!

Several years ago I was browsing through a gift shop and came across a long, thin, black and white polka dot sachet that smelled like heaven. I picked it up and inhaled the fragrance like a thirsty traveler enjoying an ice cold drink. I had never smelled anything like it before. It had a small tag on it that read "White Ginger". What manner of magic was in this little package, I wondered? I wanted that sachet. I needed that sachet. The sachet needed me! I could feel it. I was getting shoppers-eyes, those mildly dialated eyes of a woman on the edge. I forced myself to put it down, to walk away. It was only a few weeks before Christmas, and I really didn’t need to be shopping for myself. I was good. I left the store sachet-less.

Shortly after New Year’s I found myself in the same store. I made a bee-line to the shelf where I had been previously intoxicated. There was only one White Ginger sachet left. It was a sign. It was kismet. It was MINE! I took it home and put it with my lingerie, and it wove it’s special magic in my closet. Every time I opened the door, I could smell White Ginger. I had never even heard of White Ginger as a fragrance before. I went back to the store that had been my source before, but they were no longer carrying it. They didn’t plan on it in the future. I was out of luck. But now I had to find more.

Much later, I was in another small gift shop and found a White Ginger Original WashbagÒ from Tussie Mussies. I was so excited! This was a little muslin drawstring bag filled with oats and that same delicious scent, and all wrapped up in the prettiest white tissue paper with tiny black polka dots and a ribbon. The package said I could use it in the shower as a body scrub. But seeing how beautifully it was packaged, I couldn’t bear to unwrap my Tussie Mussies.

I decided to use it instead as a pillow sachet. I put it in my pillowcase every morning when I’d make the bed. Then each night when I’d wearily lay my head on my pillow the magic of that White Ginger fragrance would waft up, and I would slip off into sweet sleep. In the morning I would wake up and my hair would smell enticingly of White Ginger. I was hooked. This was my fragrance. I decided I better go back and buy myself some more to have on hand. Except the store no longer carried it! Was this some sort of evil conspiracy? How, I wondered, could any rational store choose not to sell something I so plainly wanted to buy? My complaints went unanswered. I was on my own. But I knew there had to be a way.

I felt like Scarlett O’Hara declaring she’d never be hungry again. "I’ll never be without Tussie Mussies again!" I finally managed to get ahold of the manufacturer, and in a quirky set of circumstances decided that The Well Feathered Nest, the imaginary business that had been stalking my subconscious for months needed to become a reality. It would be the avenue to ensure my ongoing supply of this product I’d shamelessly become addicted to. What more can I say? I have created numerous other Tussie Mussies enthusiasts along the way. I want to ensure that you and I will never have to be without this wonderful product again! If you’ve never smelled anything that made you have to have more, well, you haven’t smelled Tussie Mussies.
